Junaid Khan Says Aamir Khan Is Still Upset Over Ek Din Box Office Failure

 Junaid Khan has finally reacted to Ek Din’s disappointing box office performance and revealed that Aamir Khan is still deeply affected by the film’s failure despite years of experience in the industry.

After the disappointing response to Loveyapa, Junaid Khan returned to the theatres with Ek Din with hope for a stronger connection with the audience. Meanwhile, the romantic drama also failed to perform well at the box office. On top of that, the film also struggled from its opening day and could not create the expected buzz despite featuring Sai Pallavi in her Bollywood debut. 

Junaid has finally now spoken about the film’s underwhelming performance during the interview with Vickey Lalwani. He revealed that his father, Aamir Khan (Producer of the film), is also deeply affected by the failure of the film. 

Junaid Khan Reacts To Ek Din’s Poor Box Office Run

Junaid honestly spoke about the film’s failure during the interaction with Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel. He admitted that the team had high expectations for the film. But the audience did not respond as they had hoped. 

He also shared that he personally enjoyed the film and connected with its story. He also mentioned that some viewers appreciated the emotional drama, but the larger audience was not completely engaged with the story. 

He said, “Yaa film's not done well. We were hopeful but I guess it didn't do well. Hota hai kabhi kabhi. It's a film that I really liked and enjoyed. A lot of people did really like it but I guess most people didn't really like it. It happens sometimes.”

He also speaks about the setback of the movie. Junaid said that failures are a natural part of the film industry, and sometimes projects with high hope fail to translates itself into a commercial success. 

He seems composed and calm while speaking about the negative outcomes. It shows that not every film can work at the box office.

Aamir Khan Still Emotionally Affected By The Film

While Junaid Khan handled the situation with maturity, he revealed that the film's performance had deeply affected Aamir Khan.  The superstar takes every project very personally, according to Junaid. 

Junaid further explained that Aamir still gets deeply connected to the movie even after spending decades in the industry and seeing failures and successes in his career. He also acknowledged that Khan has moved forward with new project while dealing with the upset of Ek Din’s failure. 

The actor also shared that Aamir keeps himself busy after setbacks and comes back with passion all over again. Its reaction highlights how emotionally connected he became in projects produced under his banner. 

Ek Din Was A Passion Project For Aamir Khan

Junaid Khan also revealed that the project became much bigger after Aamir Khan heard the story. Filmmaker Siddharth P Malhotra was originally associated with the film and expected to go on the floor soon after Maharaj. 

Junaid decided to seek his father's opinion on the script. Aamir reportedly loved the story and expressed the desire to produce the film under his banner after listening to the script. 

The decision was emotional for Aamir as he finally got the chance to back a film starring his own son, Junaid revealed. He also accepted that the decision literally changed the direction and timeline of the film.

Junaid Khan Says He Learned An Important Lesson

The experience of Ek Din has also changed for the script and career decision.  He revealed that he might avoid seeking advice from his father on every project in the future. Not because of Ek Din’s failure, but he found the production’s pace too slow. 

He explained that Aamir Khan is an excellent producer, and films under his production house take more time to develop and release because they follow a broader scale and process. He admitted that he wants to maintain a consistent flow of work rather than waiting years between projects, as someone still developing his career. 

He admitted that Aamir Khan is eager to collaborate with him again. But he might prefer to take some time before working together on another movie. 

 Junaid Khan’s Upcoming Project

Despite continuous box office disappointments, Junaid Khan continues to attract attention for his upcoming project. He reportedly might appear in Ekta Kapoor’s Ragini MMS 3. He might star opposite Tamannaah Bhatia in the horror-thriller franchise. The project could officially begin production soon.
