Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly deciding between Dhoom 4 and Brahmastra 2 after finishing Ramayana and Love & War. Which film will he pick next?

As of now, Ranbir Kapoor is handling one of the busiest phases of his career because many big projects are waiting for him. He is reportedly working now on Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War.  After completing these projects, he might opt for Dhoom 4 because it is among the top contenders for his next project. 

Dhoom 4 Competes With Brahmastra 2

Ranbir Kapoor might wrap up his ongoing commitments by October 2026, as per reports. After that, he will get enough time before the production of Animal Park starts in late 2027. He now has two options: Dhoom 4 or Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra 2. Both films belong to an established franchise with strong fan bases and huge commercial power. 

Pinkvilla reported Ranbir has listened to the ideas of both movies. Meanwhile, he is waiting for the complete script before making a final call. Actors always review script quality, scheduling, and more before making a final decision. Ranbir is following the same path.

Development Status Of Dhoom 4

Dhoom 4 has created a strong buzz online among all the discussed projects. The franchise has given some of the biggest action entertainers of Bollywood. Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra, and others have been featured in the previous installments.  Fans have been waiting for the fourth instalment for many years because of its legacy. 

Reports suggest that the film is still in the early planning stage as the makers are working on the concept and searching for the right director to lead the reboot. As of now, there is no official cast announcement has been made. 

If Ranbir Kapoor signs the project, it might mark his entry into one of Hindi cinema’s most successful action series.  Many fans believe his screen presence and versatility may add a fresh identity to the franchise. 

Why Brahmastra 2 Is Ahead For Now

Although Dhoom 4 has big potential, reports say Brahmastra 2 is currently a frontrunner. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the original movie introduced a fantasy universe. And many fans have been waiting for the sequel. 

Meanwhile, the sequel is also facing casting hurdles. Deepika Padukone was set to join Amrita alongside Ranbir’s Dev. She is now expecting her second child, so the makers have started their search for another heroine. 

It means that nothing has been finalized right now because of these factors. While Brahmastra 2 may be leading currently, the situation might change based on the script readiness and production timelines. 

That is why Dhoom 4 is still in the race.

Ramayana

It is expected to be one of the biggest Indian films in recent years under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari. Its teaser was recently released, but it faced backlash on VFX issues. Many compared its editing with AI. The film’s first part is scheduled to release this Diwali. But the second part will hit the theaters next week.

Love & War

Apart from Ramayana, there is also Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War with stardubbed cast. Besides Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt will also be seen in the movie. The movie is scheduled to hit the theatres on January 21, 2027. 

Animal Park

After the massive success of Animal, Animal Park has become one of the most anticipated releases in the upcoming years. Reports hint that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is planning to start the production of the film in late 2027. 

Since there is time for the shoot of Animal Park,  Ranbir has time for one more movie. It has opened the door for either Dhoom 4 or Brahmastra 2. 

Final Decision Still Pending

As of now, no official announcement has been made regarding Ranbir Kapoor’s next project. Meanwhile, he is currently reviewing all the projects and waiting for the final script to make a decision. 

The final result might depend on timings and creative interests because schedules and plans change in Bollywood.  If Ranbir joins Dhoom 4, it might instantly become the most-awaited movie in the industry.
