The movie comes with a big-screen entertainer with an international goal. The story starts when a dangerous nuclear device falls into the wrong hands as Chennai prepares to host a big G20 summit. The nation becomes RAW agents to restrict the danger because lakhs of lives are at risk.

Arya (Gautham) is seen as an undercover agent who leads the mission. But one side of the problem is the only danger outside. There are traitors, hidden agendas, and officers who might not be loyal to the country anymore.

The screenplay keeps coming up with fresh twists. Characters switch sides, old secrets come back, past relationships, and change current choices. The film also tries to create suspense through betrayals and double games. Although some twists are predictable, the instant pacing keeps the movie engaging.

Director Manu Anand clearly wants to offer a Tamil spy franchise with scale and grand setup. The try is visible throughout the film in that sense.

Arya fits into the role of the action hero naturally. He looks sharp and handles the stunt scenes well. On top of that, he carries the film on his shoulder. His calm body language also works for a trained spy character. But the emotional scenes might have used more depth.

Gautham Karthik also plays an important role with grey shades. He gets many intense scenes. But the writing only provides him with the same expression and attitude repeatedly throughout the film.

Manju Warrier is one of the strongest performers in the cast. She attracts the audience as RAW chief Indira Verma and adds seriousness to the mission. Her action moments also give viewers a pleasant surprise.

Sarathkumar also offers meaningful efforts and uses his screen presence effectively. He also adds maturity and strength whenever the story changes for him.

Athulya Ravi, Raiza Wilson, Anagha, Jayaprakash, and Kaali Venkat also give their best as a supportive cast. However, many characters could have been explored more.

Action, Music, and Technical Side

Technical presentation is a plus point of Mr X Tamil movie review. Cinematographer Arul Vincent delivers it with a rich, polished look. The visuals maintain a stylish tone whenever it is a city chase, secret hideouts, or an international location.

The action scenes are created with variety. Hand fights, gun battles, escapes, and large-scale confrontations are also there to improve people. The film might not always aim for realism.

Dhibu Ninan Thomas also supports the story with a grand background score. The music also includes urgency during tense scenes and helps maintain momentum.  Editing also deserves appreciation because the film moves instantly from one scene to another. Rarely does it feel slow despite its long runtime.

What Works and What Doesn't

Its entertainment value is also the biggest strength. It constantly moves forward and keeps adding fresh changes to the movie. When one plot ends, another starts immediately.

The film also deserves credit for trying a full-scale Tamil spy thriller instead of playing it safe. The movie wants scale and franchise. Additionally, it has the potential for becoming a franchise.

Meanwhile, the biggest weakness of the movie is its writing. Many big twists feel forced as some betrayals happen with weak reasons.  Some action scenes also avoid logic in the movie. Characters survive after an impossible situation or make weird decisions only to move the plot.

Viewers looking for a mass entertainer might accept this style easily. Those who are expecting grounded spy drama might feel disconnected. Emotional impact is also another issue. Some character arcs do not get enough time to fully connect because the story moves so fast.

Mr X Tamil Movie Review: Verdict

Mr X is an ambitious commercial spy thriller. It delivers speed, style, and twists regularly. It might not satisfy those viewers who are looking for smart and real espionage. But it can entertain fans of flashy action cinema.
