The LIK Love Insurance Kompany movie review is here because the much-awaited romantic drama movie has finally entered the theatres. Featuring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, the film has a futuristic love story where technology decides relationships.

LIK Love Insurance Kompany movie review: Story

Before moving to the story review, let's watch the trailer first. 

Now, let’s get back to the review. The movie starts with a future setup in 2040 with an unexpected twist. In that movie, there is an app called LIK that controls relationships. Interestingly, it calculates a “Love Score” and decides whether a couple is compatible.

Vasu (Pradeep Ranganathan) stays away from technology because of personal issues. He meets Dheema, who is a social media-driven young woman and trusts LIK much. Their love story takes a dramatic turn when they broke up with each other because the app gave them a low score. 

After that, the story follows Vasu’s efforts to prove that his emotions matter more than algorithms. Will he succeed in winning back Dheema? For that, you should watch the movie. 

What Works

The film has an interesting concept about how technology shapes modern relationships. The idea of measuring love through an app is relevant in today’s digital world. The first half eventually feels a little engaging as it sets up the futuristic world. 

The first half creates immense excitement around the LIK system and its impact on society. Some scenes are excellent because they show the manner in which people depend on digital validation instead of personal feelings. 

The film also tries to mix romance with a futuristic environment. It also includes freshness to the story.

What Doesn’t Work

Execution is the biggest issue that must be pointed out in the LIK Love Insurance kompany movie review. Weak emotional depth between leads and a stretched second half make the movie feel boring. 

After an average first half, the film starts losing focus and feels stretched. Many scenes don’t add much to the story and slow down the complete flow.  On top of that, the conflict between the leads has not been explored in depth. 

Although the idea of a challenging digital system is interesting, the film shows it predictably. The climax also lacks the impact that such a concept wants.

Performances

Pradeep Ranganathan gives the familiar performance and lacks freshness. Similarly,  Krithi Shetty also struggles with emotional weight. SJ Suryah tries to add energy but sometimes feels extraordinary. 

It is important to mention that Pradeep carries the complete films with his screen presence and gives a decent performance. Meanwhile, his role is similar to his last outings. But it has some variations. 

Krithi Shetty fits the role of a tech-dependent character. And the supporting cast, including Yogi Babu, also gives the light moments. But they did not last long in the movie.

Technical Aspects

Undoubtedly, Anirudh Ravichander brings freshness to the film. Production design also creates a decent futuristic environment. Meanwhile, the storytelling fails to match the film’s visual efforts.  

The background score supports the movie’s theme brilliantly and maintains the mood. The cinematography captures the environment effectively. Still, the technical quality alone cannot boost the weak storytelling of the movie.

Despite a promising concept, the movie falls short due to a weak story and a lack of emotional impact. Pradeep Ranganathan’s fans might still find it enjoyable. But it may not meet expectations for others. 

The lack of emotional depth, uneven pacing, and weak second half affect the overall experience. Although there are a few engaging moments, they are not consistent enough to engage the audience.
