Starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, it tries to mix an emotional love story with action and unexpected storytelling. The film comes with high expectations under the direction of  Shaneil Deo because of Sesh’s record of engaging thrillers.

The movie revolves around Haridas or Hari (Adivi Sesh) and Saraswati (Mrunal Thakur). Both are in deep love with each other. Meanwhile, they get separated due to unexpected circumstances. Although Saraswati moves on with her life and marries someone else, Hari ends up in jail.

Fate brings both together in a shocking condition after years. Their relationships take a different turn as they get involved in some risky situations, including heists. After that, the movie moves forward with a mix of love, anger, and unresolved emotions.

That’s it for the story. We can’t reveal more than that in this Adivi Sesh Dacoit movie review. Otherwise, it will be a spoiler.

Screenplay and Narrative Style

The film does not depend heavily on a complicated storyline. Instead, it follows a non-linear narrative to keep viewers engaged. It slowly explores the truth behind the characters’ actions as the timeline shifts between past and present.

There are some moments where the screenplay looks brilliant, especially when it introduces some unique twists in the second half. Some of them really caught viewers' attention and added weight to the story. Yet the first half seems stretched because it takes too long to lay the emotional groundwork.

The writing attempts to balance romance and action. But the execution was not good enough. Some scenes were tightly written. But others appear rushed or predictable.

Performance emerges as the strongest aspect that everyone should appreciate in Dacoit Movie Review.

As expected, Adivi Sesh gives an excellent performance as a man dealing with heartbreak and anger. He gives intensity to the role, especially in emotional and action scenes. Although his dialogue delivery shows inconsistency in some moments, his overall screen presence kept the audience engaged with the screen.

On the opposite side, Mrunal Thakur plays a layered character that goes through many emotional changes. She handles them excellently to make her performance among the highlights of the film. Her chemistry with Sesh also gives much-needed depth to their complex relationship.

Anurag Kashyap left a long-lasting impact on the viewers as a supporting cast member. His performance in the climax is fabulous. Atul Kulkarni and Prakash Raj deliver dependable performances. But some characters could be used more.

Action, Music, and Technical Aspects

This Dacoit Movie Review would be incomplete without praising the technical aspects of the movie.  Danush Bhaskar grabs the rugged environment beautifully through his cinematography. His work gives the film a raw and grounded feel.

On top of that, the action scenes are well–executed. Chase scenes and confrontations keep the pace alive, particularly in the second half. A remix track used in an important scene also boosts energy. But not all musical choices work effectively.

The background score also supports the movie during intense moments. Sometimes it overpowers the dialogue.

Editing also plays an important role in keeping the non-linear structure. But a tighter cut might have improved the overall flow.

What Works and What Doesn’t?

The film works well in terms of performance and has some engaging moments in the screenplay. The emotional core between the lead characters works in parts. And the twists in the second half also include value.

Meanwhile, the film struggles with the pacing issues, especially in the 1st half. Some plot developments feel predictable and lack clarity. The romance angle does not always feel convincing, which should be the backbone of the movie.

The heist scenes were interesting. But it starts to feel repetitive after some time. A strong, focused method might have a stronger impact.

Dacoit Movie Review: Final Verdict

The movie is a decent watch for those who want to watch romantic action. Although it might not give something fresh, it manages to keep the audience engaged due to the cast’s performance and some well-placed twists.

Suppose you are a fan of  Adivi Sesh or looking for something that has a combination of emotion and action. In that case, you may give the Dacoit movie a try. But avoid expecting a tightly thrilling package.
