Vasudha Beats Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 To Claim The Top Spot In BARC Week 17 2026

BARC TRP Week 17 2026 witnesses a major shake-up as Vasudha claims the top position while Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 slips to second place. Anupama also struggles to enter the top 3 list.

BARC TRP of Week 17 is finally here with the biggest changes in the ratings and rankings.  Like the previous weeks, the impacts of the cricketing season have been significant as most shows experienced a drop in ratings. 

Meanwhile, it has also disturbed the top show’s ranking as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 has slipped to the second position after a long time of reigning the list. Keep reading to know what happens this week. 

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 Sees A Major Drop Despite The Big Entry

Last week, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 made headlines as Akashdeep Saigal reentered the show in the young character of Rio. He was earlier part of the same show as Ansh Gujral in Season 1. But he has returned as his son. 

The re-entries often attract the audience's attention. But the opposite happens with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 because it reportedly gives rise to criticism. Fans troll the age of Akashdeep as he is playing a Gen Z character in the show of around 20-26 years old. 

That criticism affects the show’s rating also because it sees a minor drop of 0.1. It drops to 1.7 TRP from 1.8 TRP as compared to last week. On top of that, the Star Plus series also loses its first position after many weeks.

Vasudha Snatched the First Spot

Although Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 suffers from criticism and a drop in rating, Zee TV’s Vasudha benefits from low competition and unique storytelling, as it claimed the first spot. The show however also saw a rise in the overall rating as it secured 1.8 ratings from 1.7 ratings as compared to the previous week. 

On top of that, Priya Thakur and Abhishek Sharma starrer helped the channel to claim the first spot after around six years. Despite having a simple story and new faces, the show has always boosted the channel’s reputation since the beginning. It was also used to get the highest rating on the channel when the channel was suffering from its low phase. 

Anupama failed to enter the top 3

Apart from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, Rupali Ganguly’s Anupama also faces negative results in the  TRP chart, as it fails to enter the top 3 list. Instead, it gets stuck in the 5th position, 

On top of that, the show also earned its lowest ratings since its beginning, as it gained only 1.5 TRP. It also rules the TRP chart for more than a year. It seems that the current tracks are not clicking with the audience’s mood.

Zee TV Rules The TRP Chart

Apart from Vasudha, 2 more Zee TV shows also make their place in the top 5. Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan secured the third spot in the TRP chart. Amandeep Sindhu and Sheezan Khan starrer also saw a drop as it secured 1.6 TRP points as compared to 1.7 TRP from the last week. 

Tum Se Tum Tak also secured the 4th spot after a slight dip in the ratings. It gained around 1.5 TRP, while it gained 1.6 TRP in the previous week. Fans often criticise its slow storytelling. 

Naagin 7, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and more fail to impress

Other popular shows also struggle this week amid the cricketing season. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai gained the 6th position before Udne Ki Aasha on the 7th position. Both shows were also TRP toppers in the past. 

Kyunki Rishton Ke Bhi Roop Badalte Hai secures the 8th position despite being the spin-off of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. Meanwhile, Colors TV’s Naagin 7 and Laughter Chefs 3 also failed to attract the audience's eyeballs as both secured the last two positions in the Top 10 ratings.  

Priyanka Chahar Chaudhry's show gets the 9th position, followed by Laughter chefs on the 10th. 

What to expect next?

As the IPL season is currently going on, the dip in the ratings might continue in the upcoming weeks. It would be interesting to see how shows would maintain stability in the upcoming days.
