Akashdeep Saigal Breaks Silence on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 Comeback and Trolls

Akashdeep Saigal reacts to trolls after entering Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 as Rio. The actor also opens up about his comeback.

Star Plus’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 has once again caught the viewers’ eye after the much-awaited entry of Akashdeep Saigal. He was part of the same show in the first season. 

Before his entry, many rumours surfaced online. Early reports claimed that the makers have approached him for the same character as Ansh Gujral, but he himself denied rejoining the show. After that, makers reportedly approached fresh faces, including Pearl V Puri and Priyank Sharma. Then, reports claimed that Pearl was confirmed for the role of Ansh’s son. 

Akashdeep Saigal has now entered the same show in a new role. Pearl has reportedly been opted out at the last minute, leading to Akash’s entry. His entry has created a wave of negative comments on the internet.  

New Promo Reveals Rio’s Entry

The recently released promo has confirmed Akashdeep’s entry in the show as Rio (Reyansh). He is introduced as the son of Karan Virani and Niyat, as per the ongoing storyline. 

The promo shows Tulsi confronting Karan after learning about his extramarital affair. She slapped him while questioning him about his relationship. Then, Rio enters the house and interrupts the tense scene. 

Tulsi becomes stunned after seeing his face because his face reminds her of Ansh Gujral. For those unaware, Tulsi killed Ansh in the first season due to many conflicts of that time. 

Fans React to the Twist

The new promo instantly started trending on social media platforms because fans shared their reactions to this unexpected twist. Many of them were expecting to see him in his original character of Ansh Gujral. Instead, the new role surprised many of the show’s fans. 

Viewers also showed their frustration with the casting choice. They feel that the real-life age of the characters is not good, as Smriti Irani (Tulsi) is 50 years old and Akashdeep (Rio) is 51 years old. They also pointed out how the grandson is one year older than the grandmother.  These reactions also led to producer Ekta Kapoor’s trolling. 

Despite criticism, the promo was successful in generating the much-wanted criticism.

Akashdeep Speaks About His Character

Akashdeep Saigal also recently opened up about his return in an interaction with Etimes. He said that coming back to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi feels emotional and meaningful. He added that his life completes a full circle beautifully.

Akashdeep also describes Rio as a modern young man who has returned from America. He called him stylish, intelligent, and full of fresh energy. 

He also explained that Rio sees Karan Virani as a father and role model. As of now, the character does not know the truth about his real connections. This hidden truth might become a big turning point in the upcoming episodes. 

Akashdeep also said that Rio is very different from Ansh Gujral. Although Ansh was intense and dangerous, Rio has warmth, loyalty, and emotional balance.

He also opened up about his age difference in the interaction. 

He said, “Age doesn’t matter for an actor. Instead, it matters how you put energy into the character”. 

It is the reply to the trolls who are targeting him for playing a younger character than his real age. 

Akashdeep’s Busy TV Comeback Phase

Apart from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, Akashdeep Saigal is also being seen in Naagin 7. Interestingly, he is again playing a negative character in the supernatural show. 

He has made his comeback after years of disappearance from TV. His return in 2 big shows has put him back in the spotlight. Many viewers who followed him for many years are happy to see him again. 

What’s Next in the Story?

As Rio has just reentered the show, fans are now wondering whether he is the positive or negative character. If the makers reveal his real identity slowly, it might become one of the trending twists of the season.
