Jhanak And Advocate Anjali Awasthi To Go Off-Air On These Dates

Star Plus is reportedly planning to end Jhanak and Advocate Anjali Awasthi this month amid declining TRPs. Reports suggest the final shoot and telecast dates of both shows are already decided.

Star Plus is currently struggling to attract viewers amid the cricketing season. Although most of its shows are experiencing a sharp decline in TRP, its no. 1 show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, has also recently lost its first position in the rating charts. 

The channel is now ready to make several changes after IPL 2026. It has also decided to pull the plug on two of its most popular shows, Jhanak and Advocate Anjali Awasthi. Keep reading to learn everything about this development. 

Jhanak To Go Off-Air This Month

As previously reported, Jhanak is set to bid adieu to its loyal audience. The Star Plus show has been under scrutiny for many months. But its consistent performance helped it to stay alive despite being telecast on the late-night slot. The show has seen a sharp decline in viewership recently, forcing the channel to end it. 

It was among the most popular shows of Star Plus, which often secured its place in the top 5 list. Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja were among the top reasons behind its success. The duo earned constant appreciation from the viewers. 

It took a generation leap after some time and introduced Riya Sharma and Arjit Taneja as the leading faces. Arjit Taneja left it after a few months, and Rajveer Singh entered for the same role. The show managed to deliver an average performance after these changes. 

The series is reportedly set to say goodbye to its fans, as the last date of shooting will reportedly happen on May 25, 2026. Its last episode is planned to be telecast on May 30.

Besides Jhanak, another popular show of Star Plus is going off-air, Advocate Anjali Awasthi, this month. It also grabbed the audience's attention for years, just like Jhanak. It was also among the top 5 shows for several weeks in its initial months.  But constant slot changes made it difficult to attract the audience's eyeballs. 

Shritama Mitra and Ankit Raizada initially led the show and earned the immense praise from its viewers. The lead pair and thrilling storyline were also among the top reasons behind its success. It then takes a generation leap after which Puneet Chouksey entered as the new male lead opposite Shritama Mitra.

The show started to struggle after some time. Star Plus even gave it many extensions due to its consistent performance to prove itself.  But now the channel has finally decided to pull the plug after multiple chances. 

Reports suggest that the cast is set to shoot its last episode on the 22nd of May. Its last episode is expected to air on May 31.  

Official Confirmation Still Awaited

Although both shows are reportedly set to go off-air, the channel and the production of both shows have not made any official comment on the same. This is because fans are currently hoping that these reports are false, as these shows have earned many extensions previously. 

This time, the reports have a strong chance because the telecast and shoot’s last date is out. On top of that, both of them have recently secured one of their low ratings point. These signs hint that the claims are almost true. 

From Successful To Struggling Shows

Jhanak and Advocate Anjali Awasthi have both followed a similar journey throughout their run. Both of them have emerged as one of the highest-rated shows of the Indian television industry. They have earned a loyal fanbase during their initial phase due to a strong storyline and excellent cast. 

Both experienced a sharp decline in their rating after a few years. Their fanbase also began disappearing over time. The ratings also keep declining as time moves forward. Fans point out a repetitive storyline behind this decline, especially for Jhanak. 

Both shows are set to end later this month.
