Starring Rajveer Singh and Riya Sharma, Star Plus’s Jhanak has been constantly dealing with news about the reports of going off-air for many years. It gained an immense following since its launch in November 2023.  According to the report of Gossip TV, it is set to say goodbye soon. Keep reading to know everything about it.

As mentioned above, it was started in 2023 with Krushal Ahuja and Hiba Nawab in the lead. It got immense appreciation initially from viewers for the unique storyline and strong cast. 

Last year, it took a generation leap where Arjit Taneja and Riya Sharma stepped in as leads in the lead role after the exit of Krushal and Hiba. After a few months, the show sees a big change as Rajveer Singh replaces Arjit. 

Despite many changes, the show maintains a stable rating in terms of viewership.  On top of that, the show sees changes in time slots many times. Initially it was launched at 10:30 PM. but it gets shifted to 11:00 PM and later 11:30 PM. Despite being telecast on the late-night slot, the show gives a consistent performance throughout its run. 

Jhanak Set to End Post IPL 2026

After giving consistent performance for about two years, the channel has finally decided to pull the plug this time after the IPL 2026 conclusion. It is not the first time such buzz has come out, as many similar news surfaced online within the year. But this time, updates seem strong. 

According to sources, the channel has sent a notification to the makers to end the serial.  The notification came after the internal discussion between the channel and the makers. And the cast and crew have started working on concluding the storyline in the coming weeks. 

Regardless of strong reports, the channel or the makers have not made any announcement for the same. It has raised questions again whether these reports are true or not. As of now, the show is set to bid adieu to viewers.

Another Show Is Getting Shut Down

Apart from Jhanak, Star Plus’s another drama Taara is also set to go off-air. Starring Krushal Ahuja and Kanika Kapur, it will be concluded at the end of May 2026, within a few months of its launch. 

Interestingly, the makers of Taara and Jhanak are the same. They recently gave a short leap to Taara to revive its rating. Yet it fails to impress the viewers. That is why the channel has instructed makers to end it. 

Why Star Plus Is Making These Changes

The channel is facing tough competition with inconsistent ratings across many slots. Apart from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, all of its shows are struggling to make their path in the top 5 of the TRP chart. 

Indeed, Jhanak managed to survive many challenges and changes, like cast and slot changes. The channel is now focused to attract the newer audience and offering fresh stories through revamping its programming schedules after IPL.

What Should Fans Expect?  

The news might come as a disappointment for many fans who followed Jhanak since the beginning.  As it approaches its final phase, fans can expect the team to conclude the current tracks to wrap up clearly and give some closure to the main characters. 

As of now, the details about the final episode date and the nature of the conclusion have not been revealed. But the work for the finale has already started behind the scenes.
