Zee TV’s Saru is one of the most popular shows that is gaining viewers’ attention due to its unique storyline. Meanwhile, it has been struggling in the TRP chart for many days. Recently, Star Plus’s Taara and Jhanak got the notice to shut it down.  Now, Saru has also joined the same list as Zee TV has decided to pull its plug.

Starring Shagun Pandey and Mohak Matkar, the show gained initial attention from the viewers since its beginning in May 2025. Meanwhile, it started to struggle to hold its audience after a few weeks.  It received the TRP ratings of 0.6 last week, which is considered low.

Low ratings always affect advertising value, scheduling plans, and future programming decisions. This is because channels sometimes choose to close the struggling show and bring a new one instead.

Zee TV reportedly followed the same trend and decided to end Saru. But the last episode date has not been announced as of now.

If the reports are true, Zee TV has already planned to bring a new show to replace Saru. The new show is being produced under the banner of Cockcrow and Shaika Production. It is popular for shows such as Choti Sarrdaarni and Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.

The curiosity has already increased to see what kind of show Zee TV will bring due to its production track record. There is no official announcement for the show. But the development work is reportedly underway.

Reports suggest that actress Aastha Sharma might play the lead role in the upcoming serial. She is popular for Neerja and Piya Abhimani. If finalised, it would be an important chance for the actress on the big Hindi GEC platform.

Casting for TV shows usually goes through many rounds. This is because the final announcement is always made a few weeks ago. Fans are already talking about whether Aastha will be the lead of the show.

Hitesh Bharadwaj No Longer Part of Project?

Hitesh Bhardwaj was earlier connected to the same project as a possible male lead. Meanwhile, the latest reports claimed that he has exited the project due to unknown reasons.

As Hitesh has stepped away from the project, the search for the male lead has also started. The final decision on casting might play an important role in creating buzz around the launch. It would be interesting to see who will enter as the male lead in the new show.

Title and Story Still Under Wraps

The title and concept of the new show are also much-awaited shows. Neither the production house nor the channel has shared the official details about it as of now.

It means that the show is still under early development. Channels usually wait until the casting is locked and promotional material is ready. Entertainhubvibe will update you whenever any insight comes.

If the show replaces Saru, you can predict teasers and promos closer to launch.

What This Means for Saru Fans

The reports might be disappointing news for the fans of Saru. When a show ends suddenly, the audience usually feels their journey was cut short. The makers might give the show a proper ending soon.

It means that fans have a few days to enjoy the chemistry between Saru and Ved. Till the official update regarding the last episode date comes, they should only watch the show.
