Not Pavitra Rishta 2! Zee TV Renames Show to Tu Hi Re Dil Mein With Abrar Qazi & Priyanshi Yadav

Zee TV’s upcoming show starring Abrar Qazi and Priyanshi Yadav is now titled Tu Hi Re Dil Mein. The makers dropped Pavitra Rishta 2 after backlash. Here’s what we know.

Pavitra Rishta 2, or season 2, was among the most-awaited shows on Indian television. As we reported, popular TV actors Abrar Qazi and Priyanshi Yadav have joined the cast of Zee TV’s upcoming show “Pavitra Rishta”. As mentioned before, Abrar Qazi and Priyanshi Yadav will play the main leads in the Tu Hi Re Dil Mein Zee TV cast. Both bring depth to the show as they are famous for several shows. Although Abrar has built a strong fanbase with Yeh Hai Chahatein and Kumkum Bhagya, Priyanshi has gained fame with shows like Pandya Store and Doree 2. 

Abrar Qazi will be seen in the role of Sanjay, who is defined by quiet strength and life experience. Priyanshi Yadav will be seen as Vrinda. She will be the young woman whose emotional depth and strong opinion drive much of the story. 

Both will run the story together, built around real connections and personal growth. Supporting actors will also play an important role. But some names have not yet been shared publicly. The pairing has sparked conversations among fans who follow family-based shows on ZeeTV.

Reasons Behind the Title Update

The decision to move away from the previous title happened after a careful review and backlash from the industry. For those unaware, Pavitra Rishta is a popular show of Ektaa Kapoor in which actress Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput play the main leads.  It was one of the most iconic TV shows of 2009 that used to air on Zee TV.  

The channel was earlier planning to use the same name to enjoy the established popularity of the show. Meanwhile, producer Ektaa Kapoor criticised the move on social media and wrote: 

“When u can’t create an IP u feed on an established one of another creator!” She went on to further criticise the move. She further added, “Terrible ethics or intellectual bankruptcy!!! Or both!!! Nothing Pavitra about it!!!”

Apart from backlash, concern about confusion with that show pushed the channel to opt for another title. Tu Hi Re Dil Mein has the essence of staying true to one’s feelings and relationship. The choice also allowed the production to create its own brand without relying on the previous show’s success. 

Moreover, the new title also allows the audience to watch something fresh. 

Production and Shooting Updates

Despite delays, the show stayed on schedule with minor adjustments. According to Gossip TV, the makers have already done a good number of outdoor scenes in Darjeeling, using the scenic hills to add visual interest in important scenes. The team has also reworked many completed episodes to maintain the pace and sharpen character interaction. 

Channel suggested these changes internally to make every episode engaging from the very beginning of the first episode. It shows a clear focus of makers to give quality instead of pushing deadlines.

The channel is aiming for the launch window in the next month. Although the exact premiere date is still being finalised, promotional campaigns have already started because Zee TV has launched the first teaser.  If you enjoy the mixtures of stories about love, misunderstandings, and eventual understanding, you will definitely find Tu Hi Re Dil Mein Zee TV interesting.
