As previously reported, Sony Sab is coming with a new show starring Avinash Mishra and Khushi Dubey. Although the show initially got enough buzz due to the cast, now the latest buzz suggests that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Tapu, Raj Anadkat, has replaced Avinash Mishra. Why? Big Change In Casting Surprises Fans

This change comes just after Avinash Mishra confirmed in the community post that he had backed out of Sony Sab’s show. He stated in the post that the show had been delayed too much, so he had to leave as he couldn’t give it any more time. 

He also revealed that he will update more things in the 2nd week of May. For those unaware, he is also rumoured to be a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi 2026. However, there is no confirmation on it. But reports claim that the shooting for the stunt-based show will start in May 2026. So, we can expect that he may be hinting at the same by saying the second week of May. 

As Avinash has exited, Raj Anadkat has stepped in as a male lead for the same show. 

A Full Circle Moment For Raj Anadkat

Raj started his journey with Star Plus’ Mahabharat. After that, he appeared in Ek Rishta Sajhedari Ka. Meanwhile, he got fame through his portrayal of Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. 

Ironically, he replaced Bhavya Gandhi in the role of Tapu. after a few years, Raj was also replaced by Nitish Bhaluni as Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. 

His role as Tapu made him a household name, especially among family audiences. After the popular sitcom, Raj Anadkat is now coming back to Sony Sab with this new show. Playing the lead role shows his growth as an actor and his readiness to handle the big challenges.

Before this opportunity, Raj was seen playing the lead in the Gujarati show United States of Gujarat.
