Bhoot Bangla Trailer Reaction: Akshay Kumar Returns in Priyadarshan’s Horror Comedy

Akshay Kumar's much-awaited Bhoot Bangla trailer is out now. Here's what the trailer reveals and what to expect.

Bhoot Bangla trailer was released on 6 April 2026. And it shows that Akshay Kumar is ready to come back with a Bhool Bhulaiyaa-type comedy movie in this movie. It also marks a reunion of Akshay and Priyadarshan after over 14 years. 

The duo gave us many comedy movies like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, and Khatta Meetha. As a result, viewers are hell excited to watch this movie.

What the Bhoot Bangla Trailer Shows 

The trailer comes out on Monday and runs over 3 minutes. It follows Akshay Kumar’s character taking over an old bungalow near a haunted forest. Despite having the scary name and reputation, he decided to hold on to it instead of selling it to others.

Things get scary when the story opens in the village of Mangalpur. Shockingly, his character wants to get married there. Meanwhile, people avoided marrying there due to a mysterious force called Vadhusur.

Apart from the horror element, it also has situational comedy, confusion, and that signature Priyadarshan style where normal situations become total madness.

What Makers Shared About Bhoot Bangla 

Makers have also shared a fun caption with the trailer: “Welcome to Bhooth Bangla. Yahan na toh log normal hain… Aur upar se Bangla bhi paranormal hai. Enter at your own risk.”

This engaging caption has boosted the curiosity among fans. 

For those unaware, the team have already released songs before the trailer release. They are already trending on streaming platforms. 

On top of that, they have also shared attractive posters. Akshay Kumar is seen in a dramatic tantrik-style look environment on an eerie throne, giving strong nostalgic feels and hints at the horror-comedy balance.

The Star Cast and Team Behind Bhoot Bangla

Akshay Kumar is leading the film as the central character who deals with the haunted bungalow and village mysteries. Apart from him, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav are also there to boost laughter with their unique energy. 

Paresh Rawal has spoken positively about Bhoot Bangla. During a promotional event, he called it India’s most visually stunning horror comedy. His involvement gives extra weight to the film because of his chemistry with Akshay Kumar and Rajpal Yadav from the previous Priyadarshan movies. 

Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, Mithila Palkar, Manoj Joshi, and more are also playing important characters in the story. The late Asrani is also stealing the spotlight with his legendary acting. 

Known for transforming simple storylines into laughter riots, Priyadarshan is directing the movie. Akshay Kumar himself is producing it along with Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures.

Pritam is contributing to the music of Bhoot Bangla. The first song, “Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge,” has already gained popularity since its February release. It is also seen in the trailer.

From Stree to Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the horror comedy genre has always succeeded in winning audience hearts. Now, Bhoot Bangla seems to follow that path with situational humour and mysterious happenings inside the old bungalow.

 

The film has UA 16+ certification. It means that it has a balance of chills without going too intense for younger audiences. Priyadarshan’s direction has usually focused on the supporting cast. This is because one should expect the supporting cast to shine with their individual dialogue. 

Before the theatrical release, the team has been successful in boosting the momentum through songs, posters, and now the trailer. The movie may position itself as a complete package of laughs, some thrills, and family-friendly entertainment.

Bhoot Bangla Release Date

For those unaware, it was scheduled to be released on April 10, 2026. Meanwhile, the makers decided to push the release date forward due to Dhurandhar 2’s strong momentum. They aim to avoid unnecessary clashes with the box office giant and release it when the audience wants to watch something new. 

Similar to Dhurandhar 2, makers have also announced paid previews on 16 April 2026 from 9 PM. Yet, the movie will be released officially on April 17 2026. It might see a strong footfall if the trailer’s energy converts well in theatres.
