Bhooth Bangla vs Dacoit: Big Box-Office Clash on April 10, 2026

Although the start of the month won’t be given any new movie, two big movies will clash on 10 April 2026. Here is the list of Bollywood movies releasing on 10 April 2026: 

Bhooth Bangla (Horror-Comedy)

Popular director Priyadarshan is directing it. It marks his reunion with Akshay Kumar after over a decade. Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Jisshu Sengupta will also be seen in this film as a supporting cast. 

The movie is inspired by Indian mythology, black magic, and ancient texts. Bhooth Bangla has a mix of scares with Priyadarshan’s signature humour. One should expect a horror vibe, family-friendly laughs, and Akshay in top form. It has only generated huge buzz through its teaser. Meanwhile, the release of its trailer is expected soon. 

Dacoit: A Love Story (Action-Romance Thriller)

It was originally scheduled for release on March 19. Meanwhile, it gets rescheduled to protect itself from the Dhurandhar 2 storm. 

This Shaneil Deo directorial stars Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur. Apart from them, iconic actors like Prakash Raj and Anurag Kashyap will also be seen in important roles. On top of that, it has been shot in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously, aiming to target both markets. 

Made under the banner of Annapurna Studios, the film promises high-octane action, raw emotion, and intense chemistry between the leads. 

Mid-to-Late April Releases: Romance, Drama & More

Apart from the early April releases, the Bollywood releases in April 2026 also have an exciting lineup. Below are the top Bollywood movies releasing this month: 

Toaster (April 15, 2026)

Starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra, it is a much-talked-about film releasing on Netflix. Archana Puran Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Farah Khan are among the top names in the list of the assembled cast for this film. Toaster has a unique concept because it is directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary. 

Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 (April 24, 2026)

This spiritual sequel to the 2020 hit is coming back with the wedding chaos and good vibes.  Starring Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr, the film promises a rollercoaster of romance, comedy, and drama. 

Meanwhile, Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 is directed by Prashant Jha and presented by Zee Studios and Soundrya Productions.  Lillete Dubey and Sudhir Pandey will also be seen in this movie as an ensemble cast. 

Mercy (April 24, 2026)

Starring Adil Hussain, Raj Vasudeva, and Niharica Raizada, it has a more serious and thought-provoking cinematic experience as it is directed by Mithul Patel.  It is releasing on the same day as Ginny Wedss Sunny 2.

Delayed Releases from April 2026

As mentioned earlier, there are some movies that got delayed because of some circumstances. Below is the list of those movies along with reasonsfor their delays: 

Awarapan 2 (Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani)

It was previously scheduled to release on April 3. Meanwhile, it has now been postponed to May or June 2026.  Although it was previously speculated that it got delayed due to Dhurandhar’s storm, the real reason behind the delay is Emraan Hashmi’s injury that he sustained during the shoot. 

The injury required surgery and a recovery period. This is because the shooting for action scenes has been pushed to another schedule. Producer Mukesh Bhatt also confirmed the change is production-related, not because of the competition.

Maatrubhumi (Salman Khan)

Formerly known as the Battle of Galwan, it was scheduled to be released around April 17, but has been postponed now. The death of actor-singer Prashant Tamang is one of the key reasons behind the postponement. 

For those unaware, he had an important role in the film. And he had already shot some key scenes for the film. After his death, there is an increase in reshoots and script adjustments. 

Although the release date of this film has not been announced yet, some reports suggest that it might be released during the Independence Day 2026 release window. It means that it might release around 15 August 2026.

It would also be interesting to see whether Bollywood movies released in April 2026 will be able to stand against the Dhurandhar 2 storm. Ranveer Singh’s movie earned ₹68.10 crores on Day 11 (2nd Sunday). This rhythm might also continue till the end of April 2026.
