The much-awaited Cocktail 2 trailer is finally out. It has given the audience a glimpse into a modern relationship drama packed with romance, friendship, emotions, and light-hearted comedy. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, the film serves as the spiritual sequel to Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty’s Cocktail. 

The upcoming romantic comedy is set to hit the theatres on June 19, 2026, under the direction of Homi Adajania. But Tarun Jain and Luv Ranjan are the minds behind the story, as they are the writers of this movie. 

Cocktail 2 Trailer Introduces a Complicated Friendship Triangle

The trailer revolves around 3 close friends, Kunal, Diya, and Ally (Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Kriti Sanon). The story begins with Kunal and Diya as a married couple living in a stunning international location. But their bond with Ally slowly creates emotional complications. These tensions challenge the dynamics of their friendship. 

The trailer shows romance, heartbreak, misunderstandings, and humorous moments. Although the main plot focuses on modern relationships, it also explores how friendships can become hard when emotions begin to change. 

The intense confrontation between Diya and Ally is one of the standout moments of the trailer. It hints that it could move the story forward.  Several lighter scenes also ensure that the film maintains its romantic comedy theme throughout its run.

Shahid Kapoor plays a charming character caught between friendship and love, Kunal. Rashmika Mandanna, on the other hand, is seen as Diya, whose marriage faces emotional challenges. Kriti Sanon also appears as Ally, who will be the main reason behind the conflict between the trio. 

The trailer hints that Cocktail 2 may aim to show contemporary relationship struggles and maintain the glamour, music, and entertainment similar to its original.

The return of the iconic song Tum Hi Ho Bandhu is one of the biggest highlights of the trailer. Several songs have been released from the sequel so far. But none of them has succeeded in reaching the aura of the original songs. Tum Hi Ho Bandhu’s glimpse in the trailer has successfully generated nostalgia among the fans of the first instalment. 

Despite having a new story, Cocktail 2 has retained several elements from the first instalment, like exotic locations, stylish visuals, fashionable wardrobes, and emotionally driven relationships. 

Kriti Sanon had earlier spoken about the project and its comparison to the original film in a recent interaction with the media. She revealed that the story focuses on present-day relationships and explores an easy-to-relate theme.
