The Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Trailer is finally out. And it has brought back David Dhawan’s chaotic comedy style back via the loud, colourful, and chaotic comedy style that made David Dhawan’s films so popular in the early 2000s and 90s. Starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, confusion, romance, dramatic twists, and energetic dance numbers are the primary elements shown in this trailer. 

Bollywood fans started praising the trailer once it emerged online after a short delay in its release. The movie looks to aim for a full-on commercial entertainer experience due to family drama and over-the-top humour. 

Varun Dhawan’s Character Lands In A Messy Love Triangle

The Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Trailer starts inside a courtroom drama where Jass (Varun Dhawan) and his wife Bani (Mrunal Thakur) are discussing divorce proceedings. Bani reveals that Jass is obsessed with romance and constantly talks about having kids when the judge asks why the couple wants to separate. 

This unexpected reason left everyone confused and instantly set the comic tone of the movie. Jass meets Preet (Pooja Hegde) during the party scenes soon after. He lies about being single at the party, which leads to romantic relationships. 

Things take an unexpected turn when Bani suddenly returns to Jass’s life and announces that she is expecting a child. Soon after, Preet returns and announces that she is expecting a child. The trailer becomes a comedy of errors due to misunderstandings, emotional drama, and chaotic family situations. 

The makers now seem to focus heavily on classic Bollywood-style confusion comedy. It has therefore already started generating buzz online.

David Dhawan And Varun Dhawan Reunite Once Again

Director David Dhawan and his son Varun Dhawan come together for the fourth time in this film. Both have worked previously together in Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No. 1. 

David Dhawan is set to return to his signature style with this project. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Trailer is dominated by fast-paced dialogue, colourful visuals, and comic dialogue. It also has similarities with Akshay Kumar’s Garam Masala. Social media users also highlighted that it has familiar vibes of multiple women and hidden relationships. 

The makers have, however, shown it with a more modern environment and a family-oriented emotional angle. 

Supporting Cast Adds More Entertainment Value

Besides the lead trio, several familiar faces from comedy and television are also there in the film. Rakesh Bedi, Chunky Panday, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, Rajesh Kumar, and Ali Asgar are playing important roles in the film. 

On top of that, Mouni Roy reportedly plays Varun Dhawan’s fake on-screen mother in the movie. The trailer also suggests scenes of a big assembly featuring dramatic confrontations and wedding-style celebrations. 

Recreated and original tracks are also part of the film’s music albums. The iconic song Chunnari Chunnari from Biwi No. 1 is one of the biggest highlights of the Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Trailer. Fans have already started praising this recreation on social media platforms. 

Film Shot Across India And Scotland

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’s production happens in multiple locations like Mumbai, Goa, Rishikesh, and Scotland. Glasgow and Edinburgh were used for major dance and comedy sequences. 

Yunus Sajawal has written the screenplay, and Farhad Samji has handled the dialogues. Ayananka Bose has done cinematography. Ritesh Soni is seeing the editing portion of the movie. 

Tanishk Bagchi, Javed-Mohsin, Rony Ajnali, Gill Machhrai, and Akshay-IP are composing the music. The film is backed by Ramesh Taurani under Tips Films and co-produced by Maximilian Films in the UK.

Can The Film Bring Back Old-School Bollywood Comedy?

Those who miss the classic Bollywood comedy films have become excited after seeing Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Trailer. It is filled with exaggerated humour, confusion, dance numbers, and emotional family moments. 

Since Varun Dhawan has already appeared in similar roles earlier, it is because he looks completely comfortable in the energetic comic role. Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde have also added glamour and emotional drama to the story.

If the trailer becomes successful in meeting the same level of expectations, it may emerge as one of the biggest commercial entertainers of this year.  Eyes are now on June 5, 2026, as the movie will hit theatres on that day after multiple delays.
