Truth Behind Kim Soo-hyun Controversy Emerges In Police Investigation

 Police investigating the controversy involving Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron reportedly found that key evidence, including voice recordings and chat screenshots, had been manipulated using artificial intelligence. Authorities are now seeking an arrest warrant against YouTuber Kim Se-ui over allegedly spreading false accusations.

South Korea’s entertainment industry has been shaken after the police concluded that an important piece of evidence used against Kim Soo-hyun was manipulated using Artificial Intelligence in a big controversy. 

The authorities are now looking for an arrest warrant for YouTuber Kim Se-ui because he allegedly spread false claims involving him and the late actress Kim Sae-ron. These allegations have severely damaged Kim Soo-hyun’s public image and professional career over the past year. 

Police Say Audio And Messages Were Fabricated

Korean media reports revealed that investigators discovered that an audio recovered supposedly featuring Kim Sae-ron confessing to dating Kim Soo-hyun as a minor was actually generated using AI technology. 

Kim Se-ui had released the audio in May 2025 during the press conference. She allegedly claimed she began dating Kim Soo-hyun during middle school, and their relationship became physical while she was still underage.  

 

The recording spread quickly across social media and triggered intense backlash against Kim Soo-hyun. Many online users blamed him for being connected to the emotional distress that Kim Sae-ron faced before the emotional distress. 

Police documents reviewed through the Korean media, however, claim that the audio file was not real and likely created through artificial intelligence tools. Investigators also claimed that screenshots of KakaoTalk conversations shared publicly as proof of the relationship had been edited before release. 

Manipulated KakaoTalk Screenshots Become Key Evidence

Authorities revealed that many chat screenshots given by Kim Sae-ron’s bereaved family were modified before being uploaded online. The YouTuber reportedly changed multiple parts of the images. He also modified the contact name to appear as if messages were exchanged with Kim Soo-hyun. 

Police believe the altered screenshots were intentionally released to increase the false accusations against the actor and gain online attention. Officials further state that the misinformation campaign might have been financially motivated, especially for YouTube monetization and public engagement.

Kim Soo-hyun Consistently Denied Dating Her As A Minor

Kim Soo-hyu has repeatedly denied the claims since the beginning of the rumor that he dated when Kim Sae-ron was underage. 

His agency initially rejected all the claims. But he himself admitted that they had been dating previously, but it happened only after Kim Sae-ron became an adult. 

During an emotional press conference in 2025, Kim Soo-hyun firmly denied any illegal relationship. He also said that he could not confess to something that never happened. He filed criminal complaints and defamation lawsuits against Kim Se-ui and others involved in sharing the claims after the spread of allegations. 

Career Damage And Public Fallout

The scandal had a big impact on Kim Soo-hyun’s career and public image.  He was once considered to be one of the most successful actors in the Korean entertainment industry. He suddenly disappeared after this scandal. 

Public backlash also pushed the release of his Disney+ drama Knock-Off indefinitely. Public filings also mentioned that the false narrative severely affected Kim Soo-hyun’s professional and personal life. It damaged his reputation, social standing, and economic activities on a large scale. 

Reports also revealed that he received psychiatric treatment amid the ongoing controversy.

Kim Sae-ron Faced Heavy Public Scrutiny Before Her Death

Kim Sae-ron had already gone through public criticism before the controversy of Kim Soo-hyun emerged. She became the target of online trolls after her 2022 drunk-driving case because it significantly affected her acting career and public image. 

Online rumours around her alleged past relationship with Kim Soo-hyun spread quickly after her tragic death. On top of that, Kim Se-ui publicly shared the audio recording and chat screenshots that fanned the fire. 

Her family later filed complaints against Kim Soo-hyun. They accused him of contributing to emotional distress and spreading false information about her. 

Arrest Warrant Hearing Scheduled

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office has reportedly asked for an arrest warrant against Kim Se-ui. A court hearing might happen on May 26 regarding the request. She, meanwhile, has rejected all accusations and claimed that the authorities are trying to interfere with the investigation. 

As the battle is growing, the controversy remains one of the biggest entertainment scandals in South Korea in recent years. Many fans are now waiting to see whether the further investigation will completely clear Kim Soo-hyun’s name.
