Netflix Confirms More Stories From the Franchise
The platform surprised its fans by dropping a special announcement video on YouTube. The clip became a memorable moment from the original series. It also hinted that a new chapter has already started.

Could This Be Money Heist Season 6?
Fans are currently wondering whether Netflix is secretly planning for Money Heist Season 6.
Although the streaming platform has not confirmed a sixth season, many hints in the teaser suggest that the original storyline might return in a new form. On top of that, the gold bar shown at the end of the teaser also sparked theories online. This is because many fans are directly connecting it with the Bank of Spain heist from the original series.
Others also believe that there may be another spin-off similar to Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area. Meanwhile, Netflix is now staying quiet to increase fans' curiosity.
Fans Share Mixed Reactions Online
Social media is currently flooded with strong reactions online. Although many have already heard that the world of Money Heist continues, others feel the franchise should have ended earlier.
Some fans shared the excitement online because they believe the original characters might come back in the upcoming series. A few viewers feel expanding the storyline may damage the legacy of the original. Some of them even criticised the platform for refusing to let go of the franchise due to its massive popularity worldwide.
Despite the mixed reactions, the buzz around the announcement has confirmed that the interest in the series is still high.
Why Netflix Still Believes in the Franchise
As previously mentioned, people are criticizing Netflix for using Money Heist simultaneously. The platform has many solid reasons behind the continuation of the franchise. Since its debut in 2017, the series has become one of the most successful non-English series in streaming history.
While it was launched on the Spanish TV Channel Antena 3, it later exploded globally when it hit globally. Below are the key achievements of this series:
- The first three seasons still rank among Netflix’s most-watched non-English shows ever.
- The franchise collected around 1.3 billion viewing hours between 2023 and 2025.
- Berlin Season 1 entered the Netflix Top 10 charts in 91 countries during its release week.
- The spin-off generated more than 53 million views globally.
These numbers are clear evidence of why Money Heist continues to be one of Netflix’s biggest international brands.
As Netflix hints at a new journey, it would be now interesting to see what comes in the upcoming days from the franchise. Share your honest thoughts on Money Heist Season 6 in the comments section below.
