Crime 101 Now Streaming: Where to Watch This Star-Studded Thriller

Crime 101 is finally streaming online after its theatrical run. Here’s where to watch the crime thriller, cast details, runtime, and what to expect.

After winning the audience’s hearts in theatres, Crime 101 is finally available on Amazon Prime Video to entertain fans of thrilling content. Although the movie was first released on February 13, 2026, it arrived on Amazon Prime Video on 1 April 2026, i.e., today. 

Apart from leading the cast as a slick jewel thief, Chris Hemsworth is also serving as one of the producers along with Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. Halle Berry, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte are also part of this movie as a supporting cast. 

It runs around 139 to 140 minutes and has an R rating, promising a mature mix of suspense, action, and character-driven drama.

Where to Watch Crime 101

You can stream this movie exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from April 1 2026. Chris Hemsworth shared the news himself on Instagram on March 31, posting glimpses from the movie and thanking audiences for the early support and feedback after its theatrical run. He wrote about how much the positive response meant to everyone involved.

Crime 101 is a production of Amazon MGM Studios, with Sony Pictures handling in a few international markets. Although the online availability should be on Prime Video, differences may arise from international deals. So, it would be best to check for the online availability in your region. 

What Crime 101 Is About?

The movie revolves around 3 main characters whose lives tangle in the underbelly of Los Angeles.  In the movie, Chris Hemsworth plays Mike Davis, who is a disciplined and elusive jewel thief who pulls off calculated heists along the 101 freeway. He follows the same rule that avoids unwanted violence and leaves a little space, making him a ghost to most investigators. 

His path meets with Halle Berry’s character, Sharon Colvin. She plays a determined professional handling industry patriarchy and dealing with Mike’s theft. When he sets his goal on one final, he wants her help in a risky collaboration. 

Meanwhile, Mark Ruffalo plays Lou Lubesnick, who is the relentless detective who looks for a pattern in the robbery that others miss. He stays convinced he can catch the thief as the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur. 

The story starts against the sun-bleached streets and freeways of LA, offering thrilling robbery sequences and car chases that keep the pace tight. It explores the choices that these characters face when everything is on the line.  Check the main target of all of these characters below:

The best thing about this film is that it develops suspense through its changing dynamics instead of unwanted twists.

What Makes Crime 101 Stand Out

It doesn’t follow the same formula that we see in many recent heist movies. Rather than unlimited blasts and endless double-crosses, it depends heavily on the chemistry between Hemsworth, Berry, and Ruffalo.

Their interaction creates tension in quiet confrontations or high-stakes moments. On top of that, the choreography also shines, especially the scene involving the 101 freeway escapes. It helped push some predictable beats later in the story. 

The determination of Raffalo’s detective shows in parts that the crime includes real entertainment value. Although some have highlighted the mixed reactions to the ending, the main resolution left most people satisfied without cheap shortcuts. 

Meanwhile, the performance also boosts the content because Hemsworth gives charm and intensity to the role of the chief. In contrast, Berry adds depth to the role of broker. And Ruffalo gives that classic dogged cop energy. 

It also marks the reunion of Marvel stars Hemsworth and Ruffalo, who are famously known as Thor and Hulk.  It feels something new when seeing your favourite superheroes in a new crime thriller. 

Sequel Possibilities and Behind-the-Scenes Notes

Right now, there are no possibilities for the sequel. While the theatrical release is still fairly decent, director Bart Layton mentioned that the audience at the premiere kept asking for more stories with the same characters. 

And he said that he had not seriously considered any sequel during production, but he enjoyed working with the cast and the experience. In short, Layton has kept the door open for the Crime 101 sequel, noting he may be the one to write or direct it if it happens. And the love for the characters might push the narrative form. 

Working Title, RAW, and other partners were the primary producers of this venture, with executive producers rounding out an experienced crew. It stays fairly faithful to the spirit of Don Winslow’s novella and expands the world for the screen.
