The Marvel Avengers Doomsday trailer has created a massive buzz after being shown during CinemaCon 2026. It marks one of the biggest surprises in Marvel history because fans finally got a proper look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. 

The trailer reportedly starts with Doom emerging from the shadows in a green cloak and metal mask. His dark entrance instantly became one of the talking points of the event. Old promotional artwork had hinted at the design. But the Marvel Avengers Doomsday trailer confirmed the fresh version of Marvel of Victor Von Doom.

The Marvel Avengers Doomsday trailer also teased many returning heroes and fan-favorite characters. Patrick Stewart appears as Professor Xavier, and Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor. Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic and Ian McKellen’s Magneto were among the top heroes seen in the trailer. 

Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), and Simu Liu (Shang-Chi) are other cast members reportedly to feature in the film. The clash of Gambit with Shang-Chi is also a big fight scene in the trailer. 

On top of that, the transformation of Mystique into Yelena Belova during combat is another surprising moment shown in the trailer. These scenes suggest Marvel is relying entirely on multiverse tension.

Thor throwing Mjolnir at Doom is one unique moment from the trailer. It was only for the villain to stop in the air. The moment is already enough to push fan excitement to another level.

Although the Marvel Avengers Doomsday trailer has not been released online, its premiere at CinemaCon confirms Marvel is creating a huge ending for the multiverse world. The film is set to hit the theatres on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. 

Similar to Endgame and Infinity War, Doomsday and Secret Wars might be connected with each other. They could tell a larger two-part story. 

Doctor Doom might also change the MCU after mixed responses to many recent releases. Many fans see it as the chance for Marvel to restore the momentum because it has a clear villain and high-stakes story.
