Vaazha 2 Breaks Kerala Box Office Record, As It Becomes No.1 Malayalam Film

Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros has created Malayalam box office history because it has emerged as the highest-grossing Malayalam film in Kerala. The coming-of-age comedy drama crossed Rs. 122.75 crore gross in only 25 days. On top of that, it has surpassed the lifetime collection of Lokah Chapter One: Chandra of Rs. 121.90 crore. 

Strong Run Continues in Theatres

Savin S.A.'s direction and Vipin Das's writing are some of the biggest reasons behind its success. The movie opened to encouraging numbers. After that, it created momentum through positive Vaazha 2 reviews. It collected around Rs. 5.20 crores on Day 1 and grew further on the opening weekend. 

The movie also showed strong demand across the centre because several days in the first two weeks crossed around Rs. 7 to 8 crores. The film continued to perform well after the initial boost. It added approximately Rs. 1.90 crore. These numbers are excellent based on the stage of its run and the regional cinema. 

Experts also predict that it could finish its 4th week near Rs. 127 crore in Kerala. It could also finish its final total in Kerala of Rs 140 crores if it retains its current momentum.

The Kerala record is only one side of its success because Vaazha 2 has posted excellent numbers across the world. Reports suggest that it has already crossed Rs. 226 crore worldwide. Meanwhile, experts suggest that the final total of its run might touch Rs. 250 crore. 

That is why Vaazha 2 has become one of the highest-grossing movies in the world. It has also become one of the few Malayalam releases to enter the Rs. 200 crore club worldwide. 

The movie reportedly crossed Rs. 100 crores globally within its first week and reached Rs. 200 crores in just 17 to 18 days. It shows a broad audience acceptance in  India and other countries of the world.

Overseas Markets Drive Growth

Vaazha 2 is now one of the top-performing movies in the foreign market. 

The Middle East is becoming the most dominant overseas market for the film as the Gulf region has delivered outstanding numbers. The region reportedly contributed over Rs. 50 crore to the overseas total.

Instead of many star-driven movies, Vaazha 2 depends heavily on content, humour, and relatable characters.  The youth-centric story, friendship moments, emotional beats, and comedy elements are some of the factors that kept viewers hooked to the screens. 

Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak V are the lead actors of the film. Although they are not familiar faces, the movie draws larger crowds and competes brilliantly with bigger commercials. It is the best example that fresh faces can turn the movie into a big box office winner if the content and performances are good.
