Why does Trimurti Films sue Aditya Dhar?

The production house filed a case in the Bombay High Court, as they allege unauthorised use of the iconic song Tirchi Topiwale in Oye Oye’s song. According to Bar and Bench, the disputed track originally appeared in the 1989 film Tridev. It was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji with lyrics by Anand Bakshi.
Trimurti Films claims ownership of the composition and sound recording. It also argues that the song's version resembles one that was used without the proper license.

The company alleges that the version of this song has been used in the film without getting the necessary permission or licenses. The issue comes to light when Dhurandhar 2 is already enjoying a successful run in the theatres.
Allegations of copyright infringement
Trimurti Films has accused the makers of Copyright Infringement. It also alleges that the recreated version of the song appears in the film’s track Rang De Lal with new vocals and arrangement.
The plea of Trimurti Films sues Aditya Dhar argued that the use of the song amounts to unauthorised reproduction and public communication of copyrighted material.
