Colors TV’s popular family drama Mahadev & Sons has become the subject of a heated online debate following criticism from viewers after recent episodes. The show completed its 100 episodes recently, but it has now been facing accusations of romanticising abusive behaviour between Dheeraj (Aasim Khan) and Rajji (Garvita Sadhwani).
For those unaware, Mahadev & Sons follows the story of Mahadev, who is a strict father handling family conflicts and a strained relationship. The enemies-to-lovers journey of the youngest son, Dheeraj, and his wife, Rajji, has been among the show’s storylines.

Several users argued that it portrays harmful behaviour as something that can be excused because of romance. They argued that physical and emotional mistreatment should not be shown as a normal part of marriage.
