Tom Holland and Zendaya are popular for keeping their personal life fairly private. But they often share small glimpses from their world to delight their fans. During the 2nd Annual Bero Padel Classic in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Holland revealed a surprisingly simple and creative way the couple spends their downtime.

A Creative Escape at Home

Holland spoke with Olympic diver Tom Daley about his life beyond film sets and public appearances while attending the 2nd Annual BERO Padel Classic in Los Angeles on April 29. He shared that he and Zendeya have taken up crocheting at home.  

For those unaware, crocheting is a traditional craft that uses hooked needles to interlock loops of yarn or textile threads. Its final products could range from home decor and clothing. 

Known for his knitting skills alongside his achievements in diving, Daley even surprised Holland with a handmade crocheted can holder.  The thoughtful gift featured a design that Holland reminded him of a spider web. It highlights his association with Spider-Man. 

Holland appreciated the gesture and opened up about how much he enjoys the hobby. He explained that it helps him switch off mentally after a long day, as it offers a focused and calming activity. 

He said, “I just find it, like, turns my brain off. Had a stressful day. I can’t do anything else but do it. I have to be lasered in.”

Why Crocheting Works for Him

It is an effective way to unwind as it requires complete attention, Holland said. He said that it becomes his daily activity because it demands complete concentration after a stressful day. 

Instead of multitasking, he prefers to dive deep entirely into the process. It helps him to relax and focus, as it has become increasingly valuable for him due to his busy schedule in the entertainment industry. 

Zendaya on Their Bond

Besides Holland’s comment on their spare time, Zendaya has also spoken about her relationship. She shared how she felt an instant sense of comfort with Holland when they first met during the screen test for Spider-Man: Homecoming in the interview with The New York Times’ Modern Love podcast. 

She described feeling calm and at ease around him. On top of that, she shared that she actually feel nervous when they are not together. Zendaya also credited Holland’s kind nature for helping her feel relaxed during their early interactions. 

Engagement Rumours and Wedding Speculation

The couple has been linked since 2017. After that, they are continuously attracting attention due to their relationship. Reports confirmed that they got engaged in January 2025. But a comment from Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, sparked fresh speculation. 

At an event earlier this year, Roach hinted that the wedding may have already taken place. He replied, “They had missed it,” when a reporter asked about the couple’s marriage. Despite the buzz, neither Holland nor Zendaya has confirmed these claims. 

Zendaya also boosted curiosity during the promotional tour for her film, The Drama, because she appeared in traditional bridal-themed outfits. Though her fashion choices have always caught widespread attention, she has re-worn vintage gowns and showcased a modern couture look.

Upcoming Films: A Busy Year Ahead

Regardless of their personal life, the couple is also making headlines with their upcoming projects because they are reuniting in The Odyssey under the direction of Christopher Nolan. They will be seen in the characters of Athena and Telemachus. It is set to release on July 17, 2026. 

On top of that, fans can also see them together in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. it is set to release later in the same month. It means that viewers will get a chance to see them on-screen simultaneously this year. 

A Relationship That Balances Fame and Simplicity

Despite their global fame, Tom Holland and Zendaya have always showcased that their relationship is based on simple and meaningful moments. The couple seems to value balance between their public and private lives through working on films together or spending quiet evenings crocheting at home.
