Vijay Deverakonda caught the audience’s attention on April 5 after posting a heartwarming birthday message for his wife, Rashmika Mandanna. It instantly got viral due to its emotional touch and clever link to their upcoming film Ranabaali.

Vijay Deverakonda’s Special Birthday Post Goes Viral

Deverakonda shared a creative video montage on Instagram on the special occasion of Rashmika Mandanna’s birthday. It gave fans an instant look into Rashmika’s transformation as her character named Jayamma, from their upcoming movie Ranabaali.

Vijay Deverakonda kept the caption simple and meaningful:  “I love you Jayamma :)”. 

The line instantly caught fans’ attention as it connected his real-life emotions and Rashmika’s on-screen role.

The video featured behind-the-scenes moments. It starts with Rashmika greeting the team and slowly stepping into her look, costume trials, and her final appearance in traditional dress with jewelry and a bold bindi.

A Glimpse Into Rashmika Mandanna’s Character Jayamma

The first look showed Rashmika Mandanna preparing for her role in Ranabaali. The video also captured her journey in detail through studying scripts and ending her look with director Rahul Sankrityan.

Vintage inspiration was also used to modify her character, as a visual hint at classic Indian aesthetics. This change shows a strong and rooted personality set in a historical timeline.

The makers concluded the clip with the title cards celebrating the power of Ranabaali after a short glimpse of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika together.

Ranabaali has special importance because it is the first movie of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna after their wedding in February 2026.

For those unaware, the couple got married on February 26, 2026. After that, they hosted a reception in Hyderabad for friends from the film industry. Also, they arranged a sweet distribution across many cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru. 

They also arranged annadanam in many temples, as they seek blessings on starting a new journey in their lives.

About Ranabaali: Story, Cast And Release

Coming back to Ranabaali, it is being directed by Rahul Sankrityan. It is a Telugu historical drama set between 1854 and 1878 against the backdrop of the Great Famine of 1876–1878 in Rayalaseema (Andhra Pradesh).

Meanwhile, it also shows a fictional story that is inspired by lesser-known events from Indian history. It means that it may show the reality behind harsh British policies. Additionally, it shows the way villagers raided grain supplies, fought against the tax demand, and organised an uprising to survive. 

While Rashmika Mandanna is playing Jayamma, Vijay Deverakonda will be seen as Ranabaali. Both of them recently resumed the shoot for the shoot in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Despite being newlyweds, they are maintaining professionalism by resuming the shoot just after their marriage. 

Besides them, international actor Arnold Vosloo will also appear in the movie. Vijay’s character might be a powerful freedom fighter-like figure. 

On top of that, Mythri Movie Makers, in association with T-Series, is backing the film.  It is scheduled to release on September 11, 2026. 

This is not the first time Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have worked together. They have already worked in blockbusters like Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.  It marks their third collaboration that boosted the excitement.
