BARC TRP Week 07: Kyunki 2 Holds No.1 Spot, Tum Se Tum Tak Sees Big Jump Amid Cricket Impact

BARC TRP Week 7: The latest Week 7 TRP ratings released by BARC India have brought a big shift in the General Entertainment Channel (GEC) space. As the ongoing T20 World Cup is grabbing nationwide attention, most daily soaps and non-fiction shows have seen a noticeable dip in viewership. Amid the cricket craze, a few shows have managed to hold their ground and even surprise with growth.

Cricket Impact Visible Across Top Shows

Television ratings this week clearly reflect one trend: audiences are spending more time watching cricket. As a result, several popular fiction dramas recorded lower numbers compared to previous weeks.

Despite the overall dip, the top 5 shows managed to grab enough eyeballs. 

Big Change in Top 5

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has retained the No.1 position with 1.9 TVR on the BARC TRP Week 07 chart. Though it experienced a slight drop in ratings, its loyal fan base helped it stay firmly at the top. The nostalgia factor and strong storytelling continue to work in its favour.

Tum Se Tum Tak is the biggest gainer of this week. The show made a significant jump to claim the second position. Its recent twists seem to have connected well with viewers.

Meanwhile, Anupama slipped to the third spot after witnessing a fall in numbers. Once a consistent chart-topper, the show now faces tough competition. At fourth place stands Ganga Mai Ki Betiyaan, and Vasudha completes the Top 5 list.

Naagin 7 Drops Out of Top 5

A major talking point this week is the continued decline of Naagin 7 with 1.6 TVR in BARC TRP Week 07. The fantasy drama has dropped out of the Top 5 and now sits at sixth position. It had many expectations before the launch. 

Following closely, Udne Ki Aasha takes the seventh spot despite reduced numbers. Celebrity cooking-comedy show Laughter Chefs stands in eighth place.

Long-running daily soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has slipped further and now ranks ninth. Notably, makers of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai have received an immediate notice to revive their rating. Rounding off the Top 10 is Mr. and Mrs. Parshuram.

Mid-Table Performers and Surprising Shifts

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah secures the 11th position in BARC TRP Week 07 2026. Despite being one of Indian television’s longest-running sitcoms, it too has felt the impact of the cricket season.

Lakshmi Niwas comes in at 12th place, followed by Mannat at 13th and Jagadhatri at 14th.

Aarti Anjali Awasthi continues its steady run at 15th position.

Further down, Tu Juliet Jatt Di holds 16th position, while Dr. Aarambhi ranks 17th.

Jhanak takes the 18th position, followed by Mahadev And Sons at 19th.

At 20th place is Seher Hone Ko Hai.

One major shocker is the absence of Mangal Lakshmi from the Top 20 after a sharp fall in ratings. It was among the top 5 shows a few months ago. 

Channel Rankings: A Tight Race

On the channel front, Sony SAB has emerged as the top-performing GEC in BARC TRP Week 07 2026. Its strong lineup and loyal viewership base helped it take the lead.

Colors TV follows in second position, while Star Plus secures the third spot.

The coming weeks will be crucial. If the cricket fever slows down, many fiction shows may regain their lost ground.

Expert Insight: Temporary Dip or Long-Term Shift?

Such rating drops during major sporting events are common. Cricket has always influenced television consumption patterns in India. Once the tournament ends, regular programming usually bounces back.

However, this week’s TRP chart also shows that content strength still matters. Shows, like Tum Se Tum Tak,  with engaging storylines have managed to either hold steady or grow in tough competition.

For now, all eyes remain on how the charts evolve in the coming weeks. Will the current No.1 continue its winning streak? Or will another surprise climb to the top?
