Lokesh Kanagaraj and Arun Matheswaran are reportedly planning another collaboration after the release of DC. They may have discussed a project recently in which Kanagaraj could step into the lead role. Although there is no official announcement for now, the reported reunion has already created interest among Tamil Cinema fans.
Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi recently led DC, which hit the theatres on August 7. It marks a new phase in Kanagaraj’s career because he takes the responsibility to lead the movie instead of directing it.

Track Tollywood’s reports claimed that Lokesh Kanagaraj and Arun Matheswaran may come together for another exciting project. It also revealed that Kanagaraj may headline it, and Matheswaran will direct it.
It may be planned for a late 2027 start. The film may bring Kanagaraj’s screen presence and Matheswaran’s filmmaking style together again. Anirudh Ravichander is also being considered for handling songs and background score. Fans should, however, wait for an official confirmation before believing these reports.

It is already generating buzz since its announcement. Lokesh Kanagaraj and Allu Arjun working together has raised expectations because they have established themselves through stylish action projects.
Fans are already discussing the announcement teaser of AA23, where Allu Arjun was seen wearing a unique kada. Fans believe it is related to Kanagaraj’s cinematic style. This visual has also hinted that the upcoming movie may have a stylish and international flavour.
Anirudh Ravichander is also handling the background score and music. AA23 is his first collaboration with Allu Arjun. Although the other cast names have not been confirmed yet, Pooja Hegde may be joining the movie as the female lead.

It offers a combination of action, survival, and emotional drama. The classic novel Devadas is the inspiration for this movie. It uses the basic novel’s connection and presents its own characters and narrative.
Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy are also there with Lokesh Kanagaraj in important roles.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Next Directorial After Coolie
Lokesh Kanagaraj previously directed Rajinikanth’s Coolie before coming into direction for AA23.
Coolie follows Deva, who investigates the suspicious death of his close friend Rajasekar. His search takes him towards Simon and his enforcer Dayal. Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj are also there with Rajinikanth.
As AA23 is ahead and a possible Arun Matheswaran collaboration is being reported for late 2027, Lokesh Kanagaraj has an engaging lineup of projects. The reported reunion, however, should now be treated as unconfirmed until the filmmakers make an official announcement.
